Big Ben is the colloquial name used to refer to the Great Bell of the clock at the Palace of Westminster in London. However, it is often mistakenly used to refer to the Clock Tower in which the bell is housed.

The Big Ben bell weighs over 13 tons and its construction dates back to 1843, during the reign of Queen Victoria. The clock tower, known as the Elizabeth Tower, was designed in a Victorian Gothic style by architects Charles Barry and Augustus Pugin. The construction of the tower was completed in 1859.

The tower and its iconic appearance continue to be a symbolic landmark of the city and one of the most recognized monuments worldwide to this day. Get our postcard from London to never forget it!
